1up Driving School was founded in 2022. By Rhys.

Inititally called 1up With Rhys. I took the skills I built across multiple managerial roles and put them into something more meaningful, becoming a driving instructor. Driven by a desire to be a positive part of the community, I officially launched bookings in 2023… and the rest is history.

From the beginning, celebrating 3 bookings a week to being booked out a month in advance, the growth has been quick, rewarding, and honestly pretty special to be part of.

My ability to explain clearly, demonstrate effectively, and follow up with purpose, all shaped by years in retail management, is applied it to all of my lessons. Delivered in a non judgemental, enjoyable and supportive learning environment. Having now taught hundreds of students, nothing beats seeing people build confidence and grow into capable drivers.

My patience and approach are built for everyone. And my connection with neurodiverse learners runs deeper, it comes from a place of real admiration and gratitude for those who’ve supported my son, who is also neurodiverse.

Learning to drive is one of the most important milestones in life, and I take it very seriously. My long term high pass rate for the P plate test shows it. Becoming a safe and capable driver is one of the best ways to reduce risk on the road and protect yourself and others throughout your driving journey. Most of all, I’m incredibly proud of the positive impact my business has had so far within the local community
